Last Thursday I set a goal for myself. It was basically to overhall my bedroom. I really should have take before pictures. Anyway, I did not complete my goal. For now I'd like to blame it on my "Brain Tumor". Yes, right now, everything gets blames on my non exsistant Brain Tumor (knock on wood). John says I need to stop saying things like that, cause what if it turns out the doctor is right and I have one. Personally, I think the doctor is..... nevermind, I'm not here to rant about him.
Back to my room Let's start with the Bed. I tore down the old one I had made and opted to make the farmhouse bed (found at knockoffwood.blogger.com - I think) As you can see, I did finish making it yet. I still have black trim to do as well as adding the last two board to the head board. Looking at this I see I still need to touch up some of the black paint.
Not pictured above is a sign that I still want to make that was on my to do list. It will say for time and all eternity and go above the headboard.
Not pictured above is a sign that I still want to make that was on my to do list. It will say for time and all eternity and go above the headboard.Next I wanted to make display shelves for some of my Mickey Mouse stuff. That I completed.
I also want to make some thing for John to hang his ties on. I was getting sick of seeing them here and there. So I designed and made the tie holder for him found below.
Another one of the things that I wanted to accomplish during this last week was making some of my own Mickey mouse art. I also wanted to get the kids to drawn some things for me. JD managed to make me two pictures and Jordan made one. I didn't take pictures yet. I however only managed to make one of my own. It is below. Yet I just traced a picture and doodled in it. (hehe that sounds funny)
Finally the last thing I wanted to do this last week is make two night stands. I managed to make only one, so far. I had to put special thought into making John's (the one pictured below. ) Because of his Cpap, the top drawer really isn't a drawer. It's a magnetic door that john can take off so that he can put water into his machine without hassle. I also made it with a hole coming out the side so that the hose for his machine can come out and feed right to him. There is also another access hole so that if he needs to he can manually turn it on. I still have some touch up I need to do I his night stand however, for all intended purposes it is finished. You can also see parts of the bed that I need to finish painting in that picture.
I still have much a ton of work to do in order to finish my room. I must say that I think I have making furniture out of my system for a while.
Now to get all these stupid splinters out of my hands.
