Christmas

What a wonderful Christmas Season. Normally on Christmas I tend to get depressed. Not sure why, for me it's just a fact of life. This Christmas however, I really want to do something different. So I took on some different projects. To be honest, those have made a world of difference. Christmas felt right. Don't get me wrong, I really would have loved to have Josie here. But that 's a different feeling all together. I know I don't make sense. I was happy and sad all at the same time. Until Josie's phone call then I was just plain ole happy.

Anyway, we spent Christmas eve at my brother's house in Parker ( just south of Denver) This is his Goofy mug shot below. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures. (what a dufus I am). Guess I was having to much fun. I had a blast playing with my nephew and nieces and teaching them how to use marshmallow shooters. Nichole and her mom also made an awesome Mexican dinner for us. It just wouldn't have been Christmas without it (Part of heritage and it's tradition). Just wish I had pictures. I wonder if Nichole's sister Katie got any good ones?

As For Christmas day. It was great. I of course was up at the butt crack of dawn. I layed in bed and waited for John to wake up. Finally around 4 am he did. He went down stairs then I followed shortly thereafter. Going downstairs was awesome. First thing John did when he went down was turn on the christmas tree. That and our 18 year old wanted to take on a leading role this Christmas. I said fine and let him do it all while I went to bed. So coming downstairs was like being a kid again. It was kind of exciting to see the tree and all the presents Santa left. I made my way to the couch and opened my stocking. That's all I'm allowed to open till aafter the Christmas Story is read. So I opened it and waited and waited. Normally about this time I turn on some loud annoying Bells. I'm not "Allowed" to wake up the kids. I can however "listen" to music. The bells however after 19 years died last year. So there I sat waiting, it seemed like an eternity. Finally 4:30 rolled around and JD woke up. Yes!! I spent the next 15 minutes trying to talk him into waking up everyone else. Finally he did and by 5 am everyone was awake. I think that was the longest that I ever had to wait to get Christmas going.

After we opened everything. We all decided it was time for a nap. A nice short 3-4 hour nap. Woke up in time to start getting phone calls from relatives. And one unexpected but, hoped for call from Josie. She's is doing really well and sounds really positive on the phone. She really appreciates those of you that sent cards.

Once we finished all the phone calls it was off to the Fitch's for some awesome scones. Left there in time to rush and clean things up at our house for company. In a wink of an eye some of our favorite people on the planet were at our house. Although I have to admit I was disappointed one family member chose not to come. We had a ball. It was especially fun using the Marshmallow shooters I had made for everyone. Then it was off to games. John and I of course skunked Robin and Wade in pictionary.

Come on, seriously can no one live up to the challenge. Then we played some other games. I think it was safe to say my husband had way to much candy and the filter between his mind and his mouth got shut off. It was however really funny. Jordan and I managed to get some pictures of one of the games. Robin may kill me for posting some of these but, I think she'll survive.

Now on to the good stuff. Robin for some reason kept eyeing the tasty treat Nichole and Grant had given me the night before. See the pic below and yes they are real.

Once Scott B. decided he'd eat them with her I had to get pictures. Granted they aren't the best I was to busy laughing.

In case your curious Robin says the legs and wings get stuck between your teeth. Also we did have other food for them to eat so it wasn't like they were starving to death or anything. There are some more leftover if anyone wants some.
