rough day

Yesterday was pretty rough. Or at least the later half of it was. I stopped at my friend Sandie's
house for a few mintues. While I was there I recieved a phone call from a frantic teacher. Turned out My son JD, who's away at college. Shot himself in the knee with a nail. So we tried desperately to find my parents, who JD is living with. Called every number we could find for them. Work, cell, home, no answers. nothing. Panic set in Big time for me. My son was 500 miles away in a hospital and I couldn't get a hold of anyone to help him or see him. I called my brother bob to ask for a phone number. No answer. I called my sister in law becca. Yes she answered
gave me a number for my mom that I didn't have. By now the messages I was leaving every probably weren't sounding very nice. After I got off the phone with Becca, bob called back and said mom and dad were in disneyland. I Called the number becca gave me and finally someone answered. Mom however wasn't able to really hear what was going on.

So I'm a real mess. All I could think of was maybe the woodruff's could get to him. Melanie Woodruff went to my high school. She graduated a year before me. Anyway, she currently lives in Colorado Springs. However I knew her son and daughter in law. Were in classes with my son. So Sandie called Mel and asked her if she could get a hold of someone. She called her father in law and he went over. Finally, someone to be with my baby boy. Mel also got a hold of her

daughter in law. Turned out that she was the one that handed jd the nail gun that shot him. He's never used a nail gun before. Anyway after it bounced off the wood it bounced onto his leg and shot again. It took hours ( or at least felt like hours) before I could get any info though.

I was so worried. All I wanted was to see a picture of JD and know he was okay. Finally, I was able to talk to jd. But I still really wanted to see a pic of him. Don't know why but I really wanted

to know he was okay. He still hadn't sent me any pictures. So sandie started bugging him to send me a picture. He finally did.

Last night he stayed at Mel's in laws house so he wouldn't be home alone. He sounded fine on the phone but I'm worried about how he'll feel when the drugs start to lose their effect. Oh JD finally sent me a picture from the hospital.

Make sure you look carefully at it. you can see where it went in and where it came out. Fortunately it missed any bones. I hope he heals quickly.
