After finishing that I needed something else to satisfy my need to be doing something productive. Since I've been following a blog lately called knock off wood I can't help but to make to make furniture. So... I designed (in my head only) a night stand. My guest room really needed them. Now I had to come up with the wood tomake them. No problem. A couple months back a desk that we bought eons ago became so unstable that I took it apart and saved all the wood. Yes, I then cut up some of it to make the following night stands. Not perfect, but I like them and I like knowing that I made them. I need to touch up the paint on one of them.

After finishing those I had to find something else to . So I created the following. It resemembles something I saw on that web site I've been following. But I never read her plans I just saw in my head and did it. Word of advise when making this table make sure all your wood is straight. I had to take it appart twice to figure out which piece was the quilty one. turned out there were two. What can I say I bought the wood as hull wood for .51 cents a piece. So it probablly cost me less than three to make the table. Now I just have to paint it. It will be black when I'm done.

My latest project since I've been home is below. I saw it on the knock off wood site and copied it. I used more of the old desk as wood.

In between all those projects I have also been working on making "Book Thongs", bracelets and Guns (no not real guns.) I've also been working on a photography assignment. No not a school assignment. It's a blog assignment. I plan on posting those pics on the 27th when they are due. Maybe a day or two before.
Meanwhile in the process of getting these pictures John and I had what I think was one of the best dates we've had in a long time. First, we went to peterson to see the Free movie (the Box) *weird movie*. Then on the way home we stopped at place to take some pics. Below are two of my favorite results. The fog, snow and ice and be awful cold, but it sure is pretty.

Our next stop was Lowes. One of my favorite places. John and I were there for a long time. It was fun. We however made a startling discovery. Wood does in fact have feelings.
This guy was just totally surprized that someone wrote on his face. I agree, "How Rude"
Our next emotion seems to be one of distress or fear. Bet he saw the saw coming at him.
This following little guy just seems to be really sad.
I'm sure you've heard the phrase Aliens are amoung us. Well I found one, in the wood.
All in all it was a great date. John and I even had chicago dogs after we were done with pics.
Sweet home Chicago. Those also seem to be the only hotdogs I really like. Mine of course was loaded with kraut. I use to wonder how people could stand that stuff. Turns out I am one of those people.

You are insanely creative! I'm so impressed!
ReplyDeleteFun ideas! I am impressed.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love all of your projects. You are AMAZING. Love the wood faces. Love ya tons!
ReplyDeleteWhat awesome projects! I especially love that table that is going to be black. You are SO creative! The wood faces were so great. My favorite is the sad one...so cute. My dad does similar things with unprocessed wood. He finds ones with interesting bark or shape and "brings out" what is inside of them!
ReplyDeleteThe fence frost and the fog are absolutely stunning. I want to be able to take photos like that. I have no idea how to get that kind of beauty.
ReplyDeleteAnd Meryl and I had such a chuckle over the wood faces. :o)
